Chemical biology is a new field, which focuses on elucidating the mechanism of biological phenomena by the application of "chemical tools". The ultimate goal of Kikuchi laboratory is to develop new and useful chemical resources for biological research (from the website of Kikuchi lab.).

The lecture by Dr. Kikuchi showed that Chemical Biology is powerful tool for life sciences studies that takes away barriers between different research fields such as immunology and imaging.
