Kiyoharu Fukushima (Assistant Professor, Host Defense) and Hiroko Kitamoto (Associate Professor, Microbiology and Immunology) received the 2023 Osaka University Prize. They were awarded for "Elucidating the pathology of intractable respiratory diseases and development of new diagnostic methods" and "Development of new treatment for intractable intestinal diseases based on intestinal bacteria", respectively. The prize is given to the faculty members of Osaka University, who have made remarkable contributions to the education, research, and organizational management.
