"Suita City Mayor's Prize" was awarded to Professor Shizuo Akira, Director of IFReC. On November 9th, the award ceremony took place at the Suita City Hall.

The prize has been awarded to the scientists or athletes with outstanding performance. Professor Akira is the third IFReC scientists to be awarded the prize. Previous winners are Professors Tadamitsu Kishimoto (former President of Osaka Univ.) and Toshio Hirano (President of Osaka Univ.).
