The WPI participated in the AAAS 2012 Annual MeetingĀ“s exhibition as part of the "Japan Pavilion Booths", on February 17 to 19. Our exhibit introduced the WPI program and 6 of its institutes through poster and video displays, and the distribution of brochures. We propagandized WPI program, which aims to build "globally visible" research centers in Japan, and many people in the venue seemed to be interested in our high research standard and outstanding research environment.

Acting as press officers, staff from the 6 WPI institutes spoke to scientific journalists from various countries, and were also interviewed by a local daily newspaper.

We wish to incorporate these experiences into the outreach activities of the WPI and IFReC in the future.

The AAAS 2013 will be scheduled on February 14-17 in Boston, MA, USA.
