The researchers of IFReC were elected for the "Highly Cited Researchers" by Thomson Reuters CO, USA.

The data includes 3200 researchers who published the greatest number of highly cited papers in 21 broad fields.　The twelve scientists of Osaka University were elected for "Highly Cited Researchers" in six different research fields.

They include a number of IFReC scientists, Shizuo AKIRA (IMMUNOLOGY, BIOLOGY & BIOCHEMISTRY, and CLINICAL MEDICINE fields), Tsuneyasu KAISHO, Hiroaki HEMMI, Kiyoshi TAKEDA, Masahiro YAMAMOTO, and Ken ISHII.

The list also includes former IFReC scientists, KAWAI (NAIST), TAKEUCHI (Kyoto Univ), UEMATSU (Tokyo Univ), and HOSHINO (Kagawa Univ).
