Associate Professor Aya Nakae (Brain-Immune Interaction) gave a talk titled; "What is pain? Why in English?" at "Tenko Akademeia (Academy)" held in Osaka prefectural Tennoji High School on November 18 as the part of the event promoting visits of Osaka University faculty members to the high schools they graduated from. One hundred and thirteen students joined in the talk delivered in English.

She introduced her research on pain, and encouraged the students to use scientific ways of thinking with some experiments about pain. She also mentioned English skills which will be required for the younger generation by introducing her experiences at her lab.
