IFReC researchers were selected for the "Highly Cited Researchers" by Thomson Reuters CO, USA.

Highly Cited Researchers are researchers selected by Thomson Reuters with theses that have a large number of citations from all over the world. In 2015, some 3,000 researchers from 21 fields were selected as performing some of the most influential researcher in the world.
11 researchers (in a total of 12 selections) in 5 fields were selected from Osaka University.

They include a number of IFReC scientists, Shizuo AKIRA (IMMUNOLOGY and BIOLOGY & BIOCHEMISTRY), Ken J. ISHII, Shimon SAKAGUCHI, Kiyoshi TAKEDA and Masahiro YAMAMOTO. They also include former IFReC scientists, HEMMI (Wakayama Medical Univ.), KAWAI (NAIST), TAKEUCHI (Kyoto Univ.) and UEMATSU (Chiba Univ.).
