REPORT

On Sunday, 8 December 2018, at the Osaka University Faculty of Medicine's Nakanoshima Festival "Hiraku" event held on the Suita Campus, Assistant Professor Tadashi Watanabe of the Department of Nuclear Medicine in the Graduate School of Medicine was invited as guest speaker to Science Café on the Edge having a theme of "What is Nuclear Medicine? The Latest from Diagnostic Imaging to Cancer Treatment."

He gave an informative talk on the latest field of medical treatments called nuclear medicine, which is expected to be effective even against advanced-stage cancer. Comments heard from visitors include "I never knew cancer could be cured through nuclear medicine," "I look forward to the future of this cancer treatment since I only knew about chemotherapy or radiation treatments," and "the talk was very good because I was able to learn about a new treatment."
