For further understanding and fusion of researches in Immunology and Imaging technology, the Second Joint Seminar between Immunology and Imaging groups was held on August 28, 2008.

The seminar started with opening remarks by Prof. Shizuo Akira, Director of WPI-IFReC. Then, four researchers of Imaging groups (Dr. Yutaka Komai, Dr. Tomonobu Watanabe, Dr. Masahito Morita and Dr. Fumihiko Fujii) introduced their recent researches and interests in the form of poster presentations. After a break, Dr. Tomoharu Yasuda (Lymphocyte Differentiation, RCAI, RIKEN) and Dr. Tadashi Yokosuka （Cell Signaling, RCAI, RIKEN） lectured on their latest researches. Lastly, Prof. Taroh Kinoshita, Deputy Director of WPI-IFReC, made closing remarks.

There were over 100 participants including young researchers and students from each Lab.

After the seminar, there was a small gathering for free discussion among the participants. At the beginning of the gathering, Prof. Toshio Yanagida, Deputy Director of WPI-IFReC and a leader of Imaging group, gave a comment on the seminar and made a toast. Many researchers of WPI-IFReC enjoyed exchanging their opinions with other researchers.

Joint seminar will be held on regular basis, we are planning to have next seminar in December, 2008.
