The seminar titled "Intestinal inflammation and Microbial infection" by Dr. Herbert W. "Skip" Virgin(Washington University School of Medicine, USA) was held on September 28, 2009.

Dr. Virgin and his group are famous for discovery of novel Norwalk-like virus (norovirus, named MNV-1) in mice.

Dr. Virgin has studied issues at the interface between virology and immunology. He claims that these issues are key to understand chronic diseases caused by viruses.
