Combination of multiple optical measurements can assess macrophage activation at single-cell level without any contrast agent (Nicholas I. Smith Group, in PNAS)

PRESS RELEASE

Nicolas Pavillon, Nicholas I. Smith and collaborators developed a label-free multimodal microscopy platform that allows the non-invasive study of cellular preparations without the need of any additional chemicals or contrast agent. They applied this system for the study of fine cellular processes such as macrophage cells activation upon exposure to lipopolysaccharide.
