Using the genome information of the intestinal microbiota in the Japanese population, the research group led by Prof. Yukinori Okada (Statistical Immunology, IFReC/Graduate School of Medicine, Osaka University) discovered increasing of the number of species belonging to the Prevotella and decreasing of the genes related redox reactions in the patients of rheumatoid arthritis. ​
